Pride Month 2021: 5 Things To Do In Hong Kong
In love we trust.
Every year, during the month of June, people in different corners of the world come together clad in bright colours, proudly waving rainbow flags in the air and holding courage-boosting slogans in support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Extravagant parades and exciting events abound, the Pride Month celebration in Hong Kong is as vibrant as it gets. Owing to the social distancing measures in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, Hong Kong’s LGBTQ+ community will be celebrated this month with a little bit of caution, but lots of love.
Here are five things you can do to promote equal rights for and share love for the LGBTQ+ community in Hong Kong this June:
Let Loose at the Wild 80’s Pride Festival 2021
Wild 80’s Pride Festival is one of the most happening events taking place this month! The day-long affair has got everything you could possibly imagine—a curated safe space panel, an art exhibition, workshops, live music, and a few sessions of 80’s aerobics classes taught by the one and only Madame Mincemeat! If you feel like busting out your dance moves, DJ Zahra will on the decks in between all aerobic and singing performances. Whether you just want to drink and hang out with your friends in an all-inclusive environment or experience a safe and educational event space, Wild 80’s Pride Festival is the place to be!
